GCU recommends that communication with your instructor is done through the Halo Messages view. Clicking the Send Message button next to the Instructor Contact Information heading in the Syllabus will take you directly to the Messages view. If you are not sure how to send a message to the instructor through the Messages View, check out the article (Halo | Learn) Classroom Communication for more information. If you are unable to use the Messages view, you can find your instructor’s contact information within the syllabus.
The information in the Instructor Contact Information card is pulled from a faculty database. If you are an instructor and notice that your email address is incorrect, we recommend reaching out to Faculty Training and Development for assistance.Faculty also have the option to list their phone number on the syllabus, although they’re not required to do so. If you are a faculty member trying to list your phone number on the syllabus for your courses, you can add it from your Faculty Profile. For more information, see Editing Personal Information on our Faculty Profile article!
Clicking on a topic will display all assignments, quizzes, discussion questions, and resources for that topic.
You can view all assignment and quiz details while in the syllabus. For information on how to submit assignments, check out the article: (Halo | Learn) Submitting Assignments.
The reading material for the topic can be found on the right under Resources. This includes eBooks, library articles, and any other resources you may need to complete your assignments.
For more information about eBooks, we recommend checking out the eBook section of the Help Center. There are many different types of eBooks, so a great place to start is: Getting Started with eBooks.
GCU requires all students to participate while completing online classes. The syllabus provides detailed information on all the participation requirements within a course. The requirements are located after the list of topics. These requirements may differ in each course, so it is recommended that you review the syllabus at the beginning of any new course.
