An eBook is an electronic version of a print textbook. Grand Canyon University offers eBooks for many classes to provide you with easy and immediate access. To determine if your class will use an eBook, be sure to check out Canyon Connect. There are several types of eBooks that may be available for use: BibliU, ePub, Evolve/Pageburst, Library eBooks, PDF, Webbooks, Web Viewer, and W.W. Norton. The type of eBook provided to you may change as you move from class to class. As you go through your classes, make sure to save the eBook or save the link to the eBook because you will keep access to the book after the class ends and even after your graduation.Expand/Collapse All BibliU BibliU is an online textbook platform with enhanced search capabilities, offline access to textbooks through the BibliU App, synced annotations, a range of accessibility tools, and it allows you to access your library on multiple devices. Most GCU eBooks are provided in this format. To access your book, navigate to your class resources list and click on the link to your textbook. You can also access your book through the BibliU app after you’ve accessed through the classroom at least once. For further guidance, refer to BibliU Textbooks. ePub ePub eBooks are available for download from within your Halo classroom. To determine if your eBook is in this format, check to see if it has a .epub extension at the end of the file name. These eBooks require you to download an additional program to view them called Adobe Digital Editions. For assistance downloading that program, refer to Installing Adobe Digital Editions. After the program is installed, you will be able to open your eBook and log in by entering your GCU username (do not add @my.gcu.edu) and password. Evolve/Pageburst Evolve/Pageburst eBooks are used for select GCU Health Science courses. To access these eBooks, you must create an Evolve/Pageburst account and use an access code provided by your Student Services Counselor; this code will grant you access to the eBooks needed for your courses. For assistance, refer to Evolve/Pageburst. Library eBooks While Library eBooks can share the formats of ePub and PDF, many Library vendors no longer require the use of Adobe Digital Editions. Most Library eBooks can be read in browser without the use of any special software, logins, or accounts aside from your GCU credentials. After downloading a PDF eBook, you must open it using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. You’ll be asked to log in with your GCU username (do not add @my.gcu.edu) and password. These eBooks are available online through your Halo classroom. They can be viewed online through your browser, or they can be downloaded as a PDF document. Web Viewer Web Viewer eBooks are provided in an online format from inside your Halo classroom. These can be viewed directly from your web browser without the need to download the eBook. Norton eBooks are available online directly through the publisher’s website. If your course uses a W.W. Norton eBook, the link for it will be found in the Resources list within your Halo classroom.
