Grand Canyon University offers a wide range of classes to students, and the classes require different programs to be installed. Some of these classes require downloading Adobe Creative Cloud so that students can use programs like Photoshop, After Effect, and even Premiere. While GCU Technical Support’s scope of service with these programs is very limited, we can help you with logging in and downloading the Creative Cloud program. Check out the information below for more information about the Adobe Creative Cloud licenses for Students.
Not all students get access to Adobe Creative Cloud. Only students who are taking any DDN, ADV, DSM, DFP, ART-220, BUS-302, and COM-120 classes. If you are scheduled to take these classes, you will see an invite email sent to your GCU email about 6 days before your class starts.
Once you receive the email, click on Get Started to open Adobe.
You should be automatically signed in. If you are not automatically signed in, use your GCU email and GCU password.
If you need to log back in again after you set up your account through Adobe, you can navigate to the Adobe Sign In page.
After you sign in, you can download the Adobe Creative Cloud program.
When you navigate to Adobe, you will see a page that shows the list of programs that you can download. We recommend downloading Creative Cloud first. This will allow you to download each app from the Creative Cloud app when you need it.
You will start to see the installer file download. Once the file has finished downloading, go ahead and open the installer and follow on-screen instructions to install Creative Cloud.
After you install Creative Cloud, you can then select Download for each app that you need, and the program will start to download and install the apps for you.
FAQs
If you signed into Adobe before you were assigned a license by GCU, you will see the message asking you to select the type of account.
When you see this message, you will want to select Company or School account to utilize your GCU Adobe Creative Cloud license. If you pay for the license on your own using your GCU Student email, then you will need to use the Personal option.
Students will have access to the Adobe Creative Cloud license for 365 days. However, if a student withdraws or graduates and becomes inactive with GCU, you will lose access right away.
GCU Technical Support can only assist with logging into Adobe Creative Cloud and downloading the Creative Cloud program. If you need further assistance with using the Creative Cloud program, we recommend reaching out to your instructor for assistance.
If you haven’t received the invite email and your course starts in 6 days, you can still try to log in by going to adobe.com and signing in with your GCU email and password. Once you log into Adobe, you should see the option to install Creative Cloud. If you do not see the install option, then this means that you do not have the proper license assigned to you. Please reach out to Technical Support so that we can look into your account further.
If you do not have access, please make sure you are in a DDN, ADV, DSM, DFP, ART-220, BUS-302, or COM-120 class, the class starts in 6 days, and you have been added to the class more than 24 hours ago. If you still do not have access, contact Technical Support so that we can look at your permissions and possibly escalate to give you permissions.
