GCU offers college classes to high school students so that they can get college credits before they graduate. The students who participate in this program are considered being dual enrolled. If you are taking a dual enrollment class with GCU, the Dual Enrollment app is available to you. This app provides a selection of courses offered both online and in-person, allowing you to schedule classes from the available course sections.
Accessing the Dual Enrollment app
Before using the app to schedule out your courses, you will need to access the app. There are two ways you can access the Dual Enrollment app:
If this is the first time you are accessing your GCU Portal, we recommend checking out the article Logging into the GCU Portal. Follow these steps to access the Dual Enrollment app through the GCU Student Portal:
The Dual Enrollment app can be accessed directly using the following steps:
- Open your browser and navigate to dualenroll.gcu.edu.
- Log in using your GCU Student credentials (username@my.gcu.edu and password).
- After logging in, you will be taken to the Home page. From the home page, you can find your profile and access the course selection.
To sign out of the Dual Enrollment app, click on your name at the top right corner. A drop-down will appear, select Sign out from the dropdown.
Before registering for a course, it is important to make sure you have everything completed and meet specific requirements. Below are the requirements for scheduling out courses with GCU. Please make sure you meet the following requirements:
- Your parental authorization document (eDoc) must be approved
- You must currently be in high school (Freshmen are not eligible)
- Sophomores must have a GPA higher than 3.25
- Juniors and Seniors must have a GPA higher than 3.0
Once you meet the requirements, you are set to start registering for your classes. To register for your classes, we recommend checking the section Selecting a Course below!
The profile contains your high school information that determines your eligibility to enroll in dual enrollment courses. So, it is important to make sure that you keep your GPA, school, and current year up to date. Follow these steps below to update your profile in the Dual Enrollment app.
- Click on the Update my profile button on the Home page.
- Select your High School, current year, and GPA. If your school isn't listed, choose the "My school is not listed" option.
- Click the Update button to save your information.
You will need to select a dual enrollment course once you are eligible to do so. To enroll in a course, follow the steps below:
- Start by navigating to the Course Selection page by either clicking directly on the Course Selection tab or by clicking the Go to select course button from the Home page.
- Next, select how you prefer to take the dual enrollment courses. Courses are offered both online and in-person. If you are registering for online dual enrollment courses, select the Online option. If you are registering for in-person courses held at your high school, select the In-person option.
NOTE For online courses, students can register 60 days prior to the start date, and registration closes one day before the course begins. For in-person courses, students can register 60 days in advance, with registration closing 21 days after the course start date. For both online and in-person courses, once the registration period ends, the course will no longer be available. - Once you selected your preferred modality, click on the Next button to select the course.
- From the Course Selection page, select the course you would like to enroll in on the left to view the details of the course and any available sections.
- If you find the course you are looking for, select the section you want with the start date that works best for you and click the Add to Cart button.
- Once you add the course to your cart, click the Go to Cart button.
- In your Cart, click the Continue to register button in the bottom right corner.
- On the page that follows, click the Confirm registration button.
- Finally, you should be directed to a page confirming that the registration is complete.
