The Grand Canyon University mobile student application will help campus (traditional) students throughout the day, from getting to your class on time to picking a place to have lunch. To download the free mobile application, visit the Google Play or App Store and search for GCU Student. Follow the instructions below to login and access the app on your iPhone or Android device.
Logging into the GCU Student App
Once the app has finished downloading, open the app and select Login.
You will be prompted to sign in with your GCU email address, which is your firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once the username has been entered, a new page will open asking if you would like to use an account assigned by your work or school, or a personal account.
Select, Work or school account.
Finally, enter your GCU password.
If you are unable to login with your current GCU password, try Resetting your Password. Even if you reset your password to the current password, it will help synchronize your account to the GCU Student App, and should allow you access.
Select the Menu icon in the top left-hand corner to view additional options such as:
- Class Schedule
Note: The app can also be used in a limited capacity without logging in. Users that elect to skip inputting their login information will have access to the following:
The Me section will provide you access to the following information:
- Student Number
- Degree Program
- Advisor(s) Name(s)
The Class Schedule section will bring up your schedule by semester. Selecting the desired semester will display the classes you have attended or will be attending during that particular semester.
Selecting a specific class will bring up the following information about that class:
- Course Title
- Status of the Course
- Delivery Method (online, on-ground)
- Start and End Dates
- Meeting Times
The Statement tab will display your financial information. You will see your current balance at the top of the screen and a list of semesters you can view. Selecting a semester will highlight financial invoices that have been posted to your account during that particular semester.
The Grades section will display your total cumulative GPA at the top of the screen, followed by a list of previously attended terms.
By selecting one of the terms, you will see a list of classes taken during the selected term. Below each class you can find both the midterm and final grades you received. If a class has not reached the point of a midterm or final, these fields will be blank for the time being.
The Chapel section will display the schedule of chapel services at GCU and will also display which ones you have attended.
The Map section will display a list of locations around the GCU campus. These locations are organized alphabetically from A to Z and can be scrolled through. Alternatively, there is a search bar available at the top of the screen.
Selecting a building displays it's location on the campus map.
You will have three options on how you want the map to be displayed:
Use the (+) or (-) symbols in the lower right corner to zoom in or out.
The Food section will display a list of dining locations around campus.
By selecting an option, you will be shown a description of the restaurant along with it's hours of operation. You can also find the restaurant's location on the campus map. Select Open Map for a larger view.
Checking Your Internet Connection
If you are not connected to any sort of network (for example, when airplane mode is turned on), you will receive the following error message:
To fix this, you will need to connect to the Internet, whether it is via Wi-Fi, service provider (3g/4g), etc.
