Office 365 ProPlus includes products like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; essential programs for succeeding in your educational goals. You are able to install Office 365 ProPlus on up to 5 devices. To view and manage your installations, log into your GCU email and click on the sprocket in the upper right-hand corner. Select Office 365 in the Your app settings section near the lower right-hand corner of the page. On the left side of the next screen, click Install status; from here, you will be able to see all installations on your account and deactivate them, if desired.
The following products will be downloaded depending on your operating system. If you are downloading from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you will be able to select specific apps to download.
Yes, GCU students have 1 TB of OneDrive storage available. For more information regarding OneDrive, take a look at Accessing OneDrive with your GCU Email Account.
Students can download Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus once they are in an Active status. If you aren't sure if you are in Active status or not, check to see if you have access to your GCU student email. If you do, then you can download Office 365.
Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus is available for all active GCU students. Once no longer a student, the software will revert to a limited function version that will still allow you to open and view files. You will no longer be able to edit documents or create new ones. You will be prompted to sign in with an active subscription or enter a product key to resume using the full version of Microsoft Office.
Email: Your GCU issued email address is your username followed by @my.gcu.edu.
Password: The same password used to access your Student Portal.
Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus is a fully functional software package with no restrictions.
If you already have Office 365 installed on your computer, you can choose to switch accounts and sign in with your @my.gcu.edu email.
A computer cannot have Office 2013 and Office 2016 installed on it at the same time. If you have Office 2013 and wish to upgrade to Office 2016, Office 2013 will have to be uninstalled first. All other versions of Office may occur concurrently on the same computer.
Yes, you can choose to subscribe to Office 365 or choose to reinstall older version of Office.
Unfortunately, Microsoft does not offer a compatible version of Office 365 for XP and Vista users.
When attempting to download Office 365 on a device with Vista/XP, you may encounter this error: “The procedure entry point SetWaitableTimerEx could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll”

Windows RT tablets come with a limited version of Microsoft Office pre-installed on them. However, they are not compatible with Office 365 ProPlus.
NOTE The Windows RT tablet is a discontinued tablet. Most Windows tablets are compatible with Office 365 ProPlus. Take a look at Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus: Windows for more information.
If you are receiving the error "Your account does not allow editing on a Mac" the issue may be that you recently updated your computer’s operating system and the Microsoft license does not recognize that. To solve this issue, try signing out of your account and signing back in. Alternatively, you can try Switching Office 365 Accounts.
The files you put in OneDrive are not lost when you lose your access to Microsoft Office. You will still be able to view, share, and download files that were previously in the system, but you will no longer be able to upload additional files to OneDrive.
Unfortunately, Chromebooks do not support Windows or Mac desktops versions of Office 365. Because of this, the “Install Office” button may not appear on portal.office.com.
Depending on your Chromebook you can install Office mobile apps through the Google Play Store. If you have the Chrome Web Store instead, you can install Office online or you can use Microsoft Office in your web browser through the online Office apps. Navigate to portal.office.com and sign in with your GCU email (email@example.com) and password (the same as the Student Portal). Once signed in, you will see the Office apps available to you, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive.
