Enabling Data Analysis ToolPak
The Analysis ToolPak is a Microsoft Excel add-in that is available when you install Microsoft Office 2013 or newer. To use it in Excel, however, you need to load it first.
- Click the File tab, then click Options.
- Choose Add-Ins from the navigation bar on the left and in the Manage box, select Excel Add-ins. Click Go.
- In the Add-Ins available dialog-box, select the Analysis ToolPak check box and click OK.
NOTE If the Analysis ToolPak is not listed in the Add-Ins available dialog-box, click Browse to locate it.
If you receive a message that the Analysis ToolPak is not currently installed on your computer, click Yes to install it. - After you load the Analysis ToolPak, the Data Analysis command is available in the Analysis group in the Data tab.

- Click the Tools menu, then click Excel Add-Ins.
- In the Add-Ins available box, select the Analysis ToolPak checkbox, then click OK.
NOTE If the Analysis ToolPak is not listed in the Add-Ins available dialog-box, click Browse to locate it.
If you receive a message that the Analysis ToolPak is not currently installed on your computer, click Yes to install it. - The Data Analysis ToolPak will be available in the Data tab. If it is not available, you will need to quit and restart Excel to make it visible.
Downloading Excel StatPlus
The Data Analysis ToolPak add-ins is not available for Mac computers using Microsoft Office 2011 and older. The Microsoft recommendation is to use StatPlus:mac LE free of charge from AnalystSoft.
- Navigate to https://www.analystsoft.com/en/products/statplusmacle/ or click here.
- Select Free Download.
- Next, follow the instructions on the AnalystSoft website to download the software onto your Mac.
System Requirements:
StatPlus:mac requires Mac OS 10.7-10.13 with Microsoft Excel 2004/2008/2011/2016 installed.

Enabling Solver Add-in
Solver is a Microsoft Excel add-in program you can use for what-if analysis. The Solver Add-in is a Microsoft Office Excel add-in program that is available when you install Microsoft Office 2010 or newer.
- Click the File tab, then click Options.
- Choose Add-Ins from the navigation bar on the left and in the Manage box, select Excel Add-ins. Click Go.
- In the Add-Ins available box, select the Solver Add-in check box, and then click OK.
NOTE If the Solver Add-in is not listed in the Add-Ins available box, click Browse to locate the add-in.
If you get prompted that the Solver Add-in is not currently installed on your computer, click Yes to install it.
- After you load the Solver Add-in, the Solver command is available in the Analyze group on the Data tab.
- On the Tools menu, select Excel Add-Ins.
