Microsoft Project is not directly installed on your device; because of this, you cannot open Project files outside of the program. See the appropriate Operating System for information on opening your files.
In order to open Microsoft Project files, you will need to first move your file to your Local Disk (C: on device name) or OS Disk (C:).
- Access the File Explorer, then navigate to where the file is located.
NOTE Your File Explorer is the folder icon located on your task bar, usually on the bottom left corner.
- After locating the file, you can drag and drop it to your Local Disk (C: on device name) or OS Disk (C:). If you unable to drag and drop the file, you can copy and paste the file into your C drive. For assistance with copying and pasting, navigate to the article Using Copy and Paste.
- Once you have moved the file to the appropriate drive, you will need to access the Microsoft Project app. For assistance with opening Microsoft Project navigate to the article Using Citrix Workspace.
- Once you have opened Microsoft Project, you can click Open other Projects on the left side and browse for your file.
- If you do not have the Open other Projects option, click Blank Project. Next click File, then Open. Once on the Open screen, click Computer and Browse.
- In the Open dialog box, select This PC then select the Local Disk (C: on device name).
- Next, click Users.
- Access your personal profile.
- You will have a list of locations to choose from; select the location you moved your file to. Click Open.
In order to open Microsoft Project Files, you will need to first move the file to your Macintosh HD.
- Access Finder, then navigate to where the file is located.
- After locating the file, you can drag and drop it into your Macintosh HD. If you unable to drag and drop the file, you can copy and paste the file into your Macintosh HD. For assistance with copying and pasting, navigate to the article Using Copy and Paste.
NOTE If you do not have the Macintosh HD available, use the article Adding the Mac Hard Drive to Your Desktop to add it to your Desktop and/or Finder Sidebar menu.
