Using Copy and Paste

There are two methods for using copy and paste: using keyboard shortcuts and using right-click commands.

Using Keyboard Shortcuts

1. Begin by highlighting the text you wish to copy and paste.
2. On your keyboard hold down Ctrl and press C. This will copy the highlighted text.
3. Navigate to the location where you would like to paste the text.
4. Hold down Ctrl and press V. This will paste the text into its new location.

Using Right-Click Commands

1. Begin by highlighting the text you wish to copy and paste.
2. Right-click on the highlighted text and select Copy.
3. Navigate to the location where you would like to paste the text.
4. Right-click on the desired location and select Paste. There may be multiple options for pasting in Word. Each option will format the pasted text in a different way.

There are two methods for using copy and paste: using keyboard shortcuts and using right-click commands.

Using Keyboard Shortcuts

1. Begin by highlighting the text you wish to copy and paste.
2. On your keyboard hold down Command and press C. This will copy the highlighted text.
3. Navigate to the location where you would like to paste the text.
4. Hold down Command and press V. This will paste the text into its new location.

Using Right-Click Commands

1. Begin by highlighting the text you wish to copy and paste.
2. Right-click on the highlighted text and select Copy.
3. Navigate to the location where you would like to paste the text.
4. Right-click on the desired location and select Paste.

Microsoft Edge has updated its copy and paste feature to paste the title of a webpage as a hyperlink rather than its URL directly. See the following steps to change the settings to paste direct URLs:

1. Select the three horizontal dots in the upper right corner of Edge.
   
   
2. Select Settings.
   
   
3. On the left side menu, select Share, copy, and paste.
   
   
4. Under URL copy & paste format default select Plain text.
   
   

When pasting in Halo, your text will keep the same formatting it had from wherever you copied it. Text size, coloring, and styling are all types of formatting that can be transferred to Halo. If you would like to paste without this formatting, you can select the paste as plain text option on the right-click menu; otherwise, you can use CTRL+SHIFT+V, or CMD+OPTION+Shift+V if you’re on a Mac.

 

If you want to always paste as plain text, you can enable the Paste as Text option on Halo’s textbox to always paste without formatting.

If you already have your text pasted but your text has formatting that you don’t want, you can clear the formatting with Halo’s text box. First, highlight the text whose formatting you want removed. After your text has been highlighted, click the Clear Formatting option on Halo’s text box.

If you right-click on Halo’s text box and nothing happens, you can work around this by pasting your text with keyboard shortcuts. If you would still like to paste with the right-click menu, try using CTRL+Click if you’re on a mac, to open the right-click menu.
