Cookies (not the edible kind) are pieces of information that get stored in your internet browser. This data can be helpful by keeping a record of websites you visit, and by saving your login information for things like Halo Learn or the GCU Portal. The steps for enabling cookies is different on each internet browser. Click the appropriate menu below for instructions. Expand/Collapse All Microsoft Edge Please note that there are two separate versions of Microsoft Edge; the current and legacy versions. If you are not sure which version you are currently on, reference the icons next to the headers below. Microsoft Edge Click the menu icon and select Settings. Click Cookies and site permissions in the left column. Under Cookies and data stored, select Manage and delete cookies and site data. Turn on the option for Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended) Microsoft Edge (Legacy) Click the menu icon and select Settings. Click Privacy & security. Under the Privacy & security heading, navigate for Cookies then select Don’t block cookies from the menu. NOTE This setting is managed at your own discretion. GCU requires the use of cookies on some websites such as the Test Application Platform, but it is your responsibility to manage this setting on your own device. Google Chrome Click the menu icon and select Settings. Search for cookies in the search bar at the top of the page. Select Third-party cookies. Select the Block third-party cookies in Incognito setting. Once your settings have been adjusted, close and re-open your browser. NOTE This setting is managed at your own discretion. GCU requires the use of cookies on some websites such as the Test Application Platform, but it is your responsibility to manage this setting on your own device. Firefox Click the menu icon and select Settings. Click the Privacy and Security tab. Under the History heading, ensure that the Firefox will: section is set to Remember History. This will automatically allow Cookies on websites you visit. If you would like more control over the specific history settings on your browser, select the Use custom settings for history option instead. This will allow you to specifically indicate what type of cookies you allow, and how long your browser will save them. Once your settings have been adjusted, close and re-open your browser. NOTE This setting is managed at your own discretion. GCU requires the use of cookies on some websites such as the Test Application Platform, but it is your responsibility to manage this setting on your own device. Safari Click Safari from the menu bar and select Preferences. Select the Privacy tab. Next to the Cookies and website data setting, uncheck Block all cookies. This will allow cookies from most websites (including GCU). Once your settings have been adjusted, close and re-open your browser. NOTE This setting is managed at your own discretion.
