The Test Application Platform (TAP) is an application created by GCU's Academic Web Services department. This application powers New Student Placement Exams, as well as some quizzes integrated into LMS courses. If you have cookies enabled on your browser, the Test Application platform will save your answers as they go.
Potential Errors
If you are unable to log into the placement exam, make sure you are using the correct login information. The username used will be your full GCU username without @my.gcu.edu at the end. The password will be the same password that you use for Student Portal. If you are still having difficulty logging in, check out our article for Basic Troubleshooting steps before resetting your password.
If you lose internet connection while taking either your placement exam or a quiz powered by TAP in the LMS, the internet connection icon at the top will turn red.
The following message will appear:
"Looks like you've lost your internet connection! Don't worry, were saving your answers in your browser, so don't close or refresh the page. Once you're back online, you can submit your answers."
Check the box and click the Continue Offline button.
Once you have completed the quiz or placement exam offline, you will see the following screen:
After your internet connection returns, you will be able to submit their answers.
DO NOT:
- clear your cache and cookies
- refresh the page
- close the page and switch to another browser
Doing any of the steps above will result in any quiz questions if have already answered being deleted. This would also reset your clock and require you to wait 24 hours before attempting the quiz again. Instead, it is recommended that you troubleshoot your internet connection using the following article (but don't restart your computer).
Resources in Tap
You can access the Christian Worldview Pre-Test though the link provided in your assignment.
If the link will not open after you click it, try some basic troubleshooting.
If there are issues that pop up, or you are unable to access the pre-test, contact your instructor to see if you can have the pre-test reassigned to you.
The college of Nursing and Health Care Professions has created a location where they have provided various resources based on level for both Online and Traditional students. The link for these resources can be found in the course materials for your classes, or accessed at nursing-resources.gcu.edu. If you are unable to open the link, try basic troubleshooting.
