Have you ever wished there was a way to recover your saved passwords? Some browsers will allow you to view your saved passwords! NOTE If you are unable to log into your GCU account with your saved GCU password, your password may have expired. On the menu, select Passwords. On the left-hand side of the Logins and Password (or the Firefox Lockwise) page, look for the website from which you want to recover your password. NOTE Many GCU sites use Microsoft Single Sign-On (SSO), so your saved GCU password could appear under microsoftonline.com or live.com instead of the site’s name. When looking for a saved GCU password, search for both “microsoft” and “live” in the password manager. If that doesn’t work or the site doesn’t use SSO, then search for your GCU email with “gcu.edu.” Once selected, you will have options to either show (eye-icon) or copy your password. Click on the eye-icon to reveal your password. Google Chrome NOTE If you are on a page where a password is saved, there may be a key icon to the left of the star in the address bar. Selecting Manage passwords from the resulting menu will skip to step 4. Click on the Three-Dot menu in the upper right-hand corner of Google Chrome. On the pop-up window, click on the Passwords and Autofill option. Then select Google Password Manager. NOTE If you do not see the Google Password Manager option, you may need to install it first. To do that, click on the Install Google Password Manager option, which is also found in the three-dot menu. You will reach the Passwords page and see a list of websites for which you have saved passwords. Click on the arrow icon next to the password you would like to see. NOTE If your Control Panel does not look like what is shown above, check to make sure that your view is set to Category. Then, select Credential Manager. Locate and select the website that you need to recover the password from under Web Passwords. Safari To view saved passwords in Safari, open the Launchpad. Next, open the Passwords app. When the Password app opens, enter your computer password. After you unlock the Password app, you will see a list of saved passwords on your computer. Click on the website from where you want to get your password from. You can also click on the password to copy from the field. Mobile DevicesIn addition to desktop and laptop browsers, you can also recover your saved passwords on mobile devices, although the process may be different depending on the type of device and the browser that you use.
