Bibliotech is an online textbook platform with enhanced search capabilities, offline access to textbooks through the Bibliotech App, synced annotations, a range of accessibility tools, and it allows you to access your library on multiple devices.

You can access your Bibliotech textbook in the Course Materials tab in your classroom. When you click on the link to your textbook, you will automatically be logged into your Bibliotech account and have instant access to your textbook. Click on the picture of your textbook to access it.
Before you can view your textbook for the first time, you will need to consent to Analytics cookies. Click on the switch to the left of Analytics cookies and then click on Confirm Consent.
You can navigate quickly around your textbook by clicking on a section underneath Contents. You can click back on your browser to return to the previous page. You can also use the left and right arrows at the bottom of the page to move around the textbook.
Before you use the Bibliotech application on any of your devices, make sure that you access the textbook through your classroom first. Enter your course, look under Course Materials, and select the link to your textbook. Once you have accessed your textbook through the classroom, then you will need to set up a manual login to access the book via the app. Access the Bibliotech website and click Login in the upper right-hand corner. Within the login page, click the question mark icon to begin setting up a password.
After selecting the question mark icon, you will have to enter your @my.gcu.edu email address and then click the Send link button.
Once you receive the password reset email in your @my.gcu.edu inbox, you can select the Reset password link to create a new password.
At this point, you will be directed to a page where you can change your password. Once it has been reset, you will be ready to install the application.
To download the Bibliotech App, go to Bibliotech’s Platform page.
Once there, select the platform you are using to download and install the appropriate application.
If you install the Bibliotech Desktop application, you should see the Bibliotech icon appear on your desktop.
The first time you use the Bibliotech application, you will see a login screen. You must follow the steps above to change your password to log in at this point. You do not have to select a university and should only enter your Email and Password.
After doing so, click Login to enter the application and see your library.
You can also install the mobile app on your Android or iOS device from your appropriate app store. After opening the app, you will see the same login screen as described before. You can reset your password, as described before, or alternatively, you can log into your LMS classroom, access the Bibliotech textbook from the course materials, and use the QR code at the bottom of the main screen in the Bibliotech library to gain access on the mobile app.
Once you scan the QR code, you will be logged into your personal Bibliotech library on the Bibliotech app. You will remain logged in until you choose to log out.
You will need the Bibliotech app installed on your device to download a textbook for offline use (see installation directions above). To download, open the Bibliotech app, locate your textbook, and “favorite” the textbook by clicking the heart icon on the cover of the textbook. After the heart has been selected, a cloud download icon will appear in the upper left-hand corner of the textbook cover. Select the icon to download the textbook for offline use.
Once downloaded, you will see a checkmark on the cloud icon. The textbook will also appear in the Downloads section of the Bibliotech app, which can be accessed at the bottom of the application window.
You can highlight parts of the textbook and add comments to those highlights. This can be done by dragging your mouse across the text you want to annotate and then a menu will appear with options for highlight colors, creating a comment, text-to-speech, and copying text.
If you'd like to add a highlight, click on one of the colored circles. If you would like to add a comment, click on the comment icon to open a new dialogue. Type in your comment and click Save.
If you comment, the text will be highlighted automatically so that you can locate your comments.
Now after the text is highlighted on the page, if you click on the highlighted text, you'll be able to see that annotation menu again. From this menu, you can change the color of the highlight by clicking on one of the colored circles. Selecting the comment icon will allow you to view your comment. Once inside the comment, you can delete it by clicking on the icon of a trashcan. You can also remove both the comment and highlight by clicking the X for the current highlight color.
If there is a square to the left of a highlight, then there is a comment associated with the highlight. Clicking on the square will bring up the comment without having to go through the annotation menu.
You can also use keyboard shortcuts to navigate around your textbook:
- Use tab to switch between elements on the page
- Use the arrows to navigate lists and scroll pages
- Use Enter to select
- Use Escape to close a dialog
- Use the “F6” key to jump to the table of contents.
You can customize your experience by clicking on the icon of the T's in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
Change the Zoom level by dragging the slider left and right.
Flux mode changes the screen to a warmer color to prevent changes in your sleep cycle. Night mode switches the textbook to a dark mode to ease eye strain. You can also change the text and background colors to whatever you want by selecting Custom colors. You can only have one selected at a time.
