MAXQDA is a qualitative data analysis software available to doctoral students. This software allows you to transcribe audio and video files, import and analyze X (Formerly known as Twitter) data, analyze focus groups, visualize results, conduct text analysis, generate reports, and create statistical frequency tables. This article provides download and installation steps for Windows and Mac computers.
Select the appropriate icon below according to your Operating System, and click the "MAXQDA 24 Installation Guide" option to get started:

The MAXQDA24_Setup.msi file will begin to download in your browser. This process typically takes about 10 minutes, but can take longer depending on your internet speed.
Once the download process is complete, click the downloaded file and a new screen will appear. Click Next to continue.
The next screen will ask you to select a location to install the program. Click Install once you’re ready.
The installation will then begin. This process may take a few minutes.
Once the installation is complete, verify that the “Start MAXQDA 24” box is checked, and then click Finish.
Check the box indicating that you have read and accept the terms in the license agreement, then click Continue.
In the next window, review the information and then click Continue.
A new window will appear with options of how to proceed. Click the option Purchased a license for MAXQDA 24? to proceed.
You will be prompted to activate your MAXQDA program. In the screen that appears, enter the serial number including dashes (this can be located by clicking this link to the DC Network and logging in), your first and last name, and your GCU email; then click Activate.
In the activation screen that appears next, read the information, and place a check in the I agree box. Then click OK.
Wait for the program to finish activating. This process may take a few minutes to complete. Once it’s done, place a check in the I have read and understood this important information box. Then click OK.

The MAXQDA24.dmg file will begin to download in your browser. This process can take 10 minutes depending on your internet speed.
Once the download process is complete, click the downloaded file and a new screen will appear. You will be prompted to click and drag the MAXQDA file into Applications to start the installation process. This can be done using the shortcut inside of this box.
Double click the MAXQDA24 icon from your application folder.
You will then see a message asking if you are sure you want to open this application. To continue the installation, click Open.
Next, read the License Agreement Terms and Conditions and click Continue.
You will also be prompted to read through the Privacy Policy. After reading the Privacy Policy, click Continue.
A new window will appear with options on how to proceed. Click the option Purchased a license for MAXQDA 24? to proceed.
You will be prompted to activate your MAXQDA program. In the screen that appears, enter the serial number (this can be located by clicking this link to the DC Network and logging in), your first and last name, and your GCU email. After entering this information, click Activate.
A message may appear that explains that the license is exclusive to GCU students and faculty. Select I agree and then Ok.
Wait for the program to finish activating. This process may take a few minutes to complete. A screen will appear to notify you once the activation is complete. Select I have read and understood this important information, and then select OK.
