Depending on your Mac’s security settings, you may receive the following message when opening your PDF eBooks:
“eBook Title” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers.
Follow these instructions to allow your Mac to open the eBook:
- Click OK to close the error message.
- Open System Preferences from the Dock and select Security & Privacy.
- Navigate to the General tab and click Open Anyway near the bottom.
- Select Open.
If applicable, you will now be able to open and log into your eBook. If you have trouble logging in, make sure you have Adobe Reader Installed and set as your default PDF viewer.
- Click OK to close the error message.
- Locate the file. Then, right-click (or hold ctrl and click the file) and select Open.
- A dialog box will appear stating the file is from an unidentified developer. Select Open.
- The file will be saved as an exception to your security settings and will open automatically the next time it is accessed. If applicable, you will now be able to open and log into your eBook. If you have trouble logging in, make sure you have Adobe Reader Installed and set as your default PDF viewer.
