Introduction to Grand Canyon (IGC) is a three-day course geared toward new students attending online classes with Grand Canyon University. Its purpose is to help you become familiar with the LMS. The course will cover basic tasks such as: how to submit an assignment, how to respond to your Discussion Questions, and where to locate your grades.
You will be able to access your course through the course link in the GCU Portal under the My Courses section. You will then be signed into LMS. If you are registered for multiple courses, you may have to specifically select the IGC course from the main sign-in page.
If you do not see your IGC course under the My Courses section in the GCU Portal, contact your Student Services Counselor to ensure that you have been added to the course successfully. Keep in mind that it takes approximately 24 hours to be able to access a course after you have been added to it. If 24 hours have passed and you still cannot access the course, please contact Technical Support. Technical Support can access the course and confirm whether or not your name is on the roster.
Grand Canyon University’s online learning management systems are specifically intended to host classrooms for current and recently completed classes. Student / Faculty access to IGC courses will be removed five (5) weeks following the course end date. It is the responsibility of each student and faculty member to keep copies of all files uploaded to the online learning management system. The University is not responsible to make course content or files submitted to the online learning management system available to students or faculty members once the class has been removed.
