You may be using the New LoudCloud (also referred to as the LMS) if your menu dropdown is on the left side or if your url starts with lms-trad.gcu.edu, lms-ugrad.gcu.edu, or lms-grad.gcu.edu.
Keeping open communication with your instructor is an important part of pursuing your education online. LoudCloud makes it extremely easy to ask your instructor questions or even keep them updated on private matters. There are two different forums within LoudCloud for this purpose: Questions for Instructor Forum and Individual Forum.
- The Questions for Instructor Forum is similar to raising your hand in class to ask your instructor a question that everyone could benefit from. If your question or comment is private, you should use the Individual Forum.
- The Individual Forum is a conversation between only you and your instructor. No one else in your class is able to see any posts inside of this forum.
Some instances where you might need to contact your instructor include, but are not limited to: assignment/quiz reassignment, CLC group changes, clarification on assignment instructions, and confirmation of assignment requirements.
If you would rather email your instructor, their MyGCU email address is located inside of the Roster under the Email id field in their profile.
You can locate your instructor’s contact information in the Roster. It can be viewed by clicking Roster in the Connect tab within the Navigation Menu.
Here you will be able to see the names of your instructor(s) and classmates. Your instructor’s office hours and location will be listed on the right-hand side of the roster.
You can view additional information about your instructor by clicking on their name.
NOTE If your instructor has not made their profile information public, you will not be able to view it.
