Having multiple versions of Java can cause conflicts that result in both versions not working. To resolve any potential conflicts, make sure that your computer only has the latest version of Java installed. You can check which version(s) of Java you have by viewing your installed Programs and Features in the Control Panel.
- First, let's go to Start and click Control Panel
- Inside of the Control Panel, select Programs and Features
- Here, we'll want to locate the older versions of Java to uninstall
- Right-click on the previous version and click Uninstall. Alternatively, you can also press the Uninstall button at the top after selecting the older version
If there are other pieces of software you'd like to remove for your computer, check out our guide on uninstalling programs and applications on your computer.
