There is a new reset process for faculty. Please refer to New Password Reset Process for steps.
If the new process was unsuccessful, or you are unable to answer the authentication questions, you can still utilize the old process below to reset your password!
To reset your password through the old process, you must first register for password reset on reset.gcu.edu. Once you’re registered, you can reset your password. See the appropriate heading below depending on your circumstances.
Before beginning the password registration and reset process, you should locate the New GCU Faculty Account email from [email protected] to obtain your username and password. This email is automatically sent when your account is created.
Once you have the email available, navigate to https://reset.gcu.edu/ and click on Register my Account
Select I am Faculty.
Enter your username and password and click Log In.
Please note, if your password is entered incorrectly three (3) times, your account will be locked for one (1) hour. If your password has expired, you will need to contact Technical Support for assistance completing the Register My Account process.
After logging in, you will be provided with a list of security questions. You must enter at least three (3) answers to continue. These are not case-sensitive. Select a question of your choice by placing a check in the box next to the question. Once finished, click Save Q&A.
Your security questions and answers will help to identify you when you reset your password. Keep in mind that the answers require a minimum of (3) characters and accept spaces as characters.
Next, you will create a numeric PIN that will be used to reset your password. The PIN must contain at least 4 numbers (letters are not accepted). Once you have entered a PIN, click Submit.
You will receive a message confirming your account registration. Once the registration is complete, select click here to reset your password.
Now that you're registered, see the heading below for steps to reset your password.
Select Change Password.
Next, click I am Faculty.
Enter your username and click Proceed.
Enter your PIN and click Submit.
After answering your security questions, click Submit.
Once you are able to verify your identity, you can choose a new password. The password must meet the following criteria:
- 8-16 character in length; and contain
- One upper case letter;
- One lower case letter; and
- One number.
Also, do not include your name or date of birth in your password. Including your personal information will result in the error "Exception has been thrown by target of an invocation.”
Lastly, avoid using your GCU username as part of your password. Otherwise you will receive the error message, “Your password cannot contain your username.”
To confirm your password, enter it one more time and click Submit.
You will receive a message confirming your password was successfully reset. To log in to your account with your new password, click the Go to the Student & Faculty Portal link.
Please keep in mind that your faculty password expires every 170 days. If you need to reset your password, you can return to reset.gcu.edu anytime!
